Complete the Principal's Declaration – QRG
This quick reference guide shows you how to complete the Principal’s Declaration of Accuracy in ERN for student enrolments.
Background
Principal’s Declaration must be completed to progress the student registration status to Risk Assessed.  All registration details and  evidence documents must  be supplied to the school before the Principal can complete the declaration.
Before you start
The Principal's Declaration of Accuracy commences on page 13 of the Application to Enrol in ERN.
Ensure that you have the Application to Enrol form with you to confirm the details entered in ERN for declaration.
System to use
Log in to the staff portal and select ERN.

Detailed instructions
1. Select ERN School Enrolment > Student Enquiry from the menu.
2. Enter the search criteria, for example, Family Name, and then select the Go button.
Tip: You can populate one or more drop down lists such as Calendar year, Scholastic Year and Registration Status to minimise your search results.
3. Select the relevant student from the list by clicking on the students name.
4. Select the Full Registration icon.
5. Navigate to page 13/14 of the Application to Enrol form in ERN.
6. Select the appropriate options from the drop down lists to complete all fields in the Declaration of accuracy section.
7. In the Office Use Only section, select the correct options from the drop down lists to validate the evidence documents received at school.
8. Select the appropriate options form the Principal’s Checklist drop down lists.

Note:
- Some fields will automatically populate to No if you have answered No in a previous question.
- If you select Yes to Behaviour Management Plan (Violence), a confirmation window will display. Review the details in the window and make the selection carefully. A red flag will be assigned to the student if you continue.
- If a behaviour flag has been incorrectly applied, you will need to contact EDConnect to lodge an incident. Red flags can be downgraded to Grey, but not removed by the school.
- The Principal's Checklist can be completed during the data entry stage of the Application to enrol if the certification has been completed. If you have to return to complete later, you can access the Principal's Declaration through the Office Use icon in the Student enquiry window.
9. Enter the required details in the Principal's Certification fields.

| Principal Signed | Select Accept or Decline from the drop down list. |
| Principal Declaration Date | Enter the date when the principal signed the declaration. |
| Enrol Now | If the student is starting in a future date, then Enrol Now field should be set as No. |
| Actual Start Date | The Actual Start Date field will appear once Enrol Now field is set to Yes. The Actual Start Date cannot be a date in future. You can select either current or a past date. |
Note: If the Enrol Now field is set to Yes and the Actual Start Date is populated with a date, then the student's status will be changed to Enrolled (In Attendance).
10. Select the Save & Exit button.
Note: All data entry must be completed before the Principal's Declaration for the student status to successfully move to Enrolled (Risk Assessed). If there is any data missing, you will receive a pop up warning to fix it. The Principal's Declaration will need to be completed again.
