Configure special days in ERN QRG

This quick reference guide will show you how to add and edit special days in ERN when your school is not open for instruction (for example, due to flood, fire risk, staff development days, local public holidays). These special days will not impact suspension day calculations.

Background

Add Special Days for non-operational days such as flood, fire risk, staff development days, and local public holidays. Roll slots are deactivated for these special days so attendance cannot be recorded.

Before you start

  • Login to ERN

Detailed Instructions

1. Expand the search panel from the ERN Homepage and click ‘My School’

2. Select ‘School Special Days’ tab at the top

3. Your school’s special days will appear in the box below.

Edit Special Days or make inactive

4. Select the specific Special Day you wish to edit or make inactive and scroll down

5. Edit the details in the field boxes as required. Or unselect the ‘Active’ checkbox if making the Special Day inactive. Then click ‘Save’

Add new special days

6. Select ‘Create Special Day’ and scroll down to see ‘New Special Day’ box below

7. Enter information in the mandatory fields marked with an *.

Note: ‘Type’ refers to the type of special day, e.g. Emergency Day.

8. Select the ‘Active’ checkbox. Then click ‘Save’
