Delete parent carer details - QRG

This quick reference guide shows you how to delete parent/carer details from a student record in ERN.

Background

The parent/carer details are deleted from a Student record when the dynamics of the student's family has changed. For example, a parent separation/divorce or a carer previously nominated as having a responsibility (other parent) to the student may not reside with the student in the future.

Before you start

Ensure the request to remove a parent/carer from a students details has been made in writing by an authorised person.

System to use

Log in to the Staff Portal and select ERN.

Summary of Instructions

Detailed instructions

1. Select ERN School Enrolment > Student Enquiry from the menu.

2. Enter search criteria for the student, and then select the Go button.

For example, enter Family Name.

The student records are displayed according to the provided search criteria.

3. Select the required student from the search results list.

4. Select the Parent/Carer Details icon from the Family Details tab.

5. Select the required parent/carer from the list.

6. Select the Delete relationship button.

7. Review the Parent/Carer record to verify the updated family tree.

The Parent/Carer record will display in the relationship field as None after you have deleted the relationship and removed the parent from the Family Tree.
