Search for a student enrolled at your school – QRG
This quick reference guide shows you how to search individual students or groups of students enrolled at your school.
Background
A student’s data can be accessed through two methods:
- the student enquiry search
- locating a student through a family tree.
Note: Select options from the drop down box to target a specific Registration Status or Scholastic Year. Example: 'Left' or 'Year 7'
System to use
Log in to the staff portal and select ERN.

Search for a student using the Student Enquiry option.
1. Select ERN School Enrolment > Student Enquiry from the  menu.
2. Enter the student name into the search fields on the Student Enquiry screen.
- A search can be conducted by entering a full or partial name into any of the name fields.
- When entering a partial name, the results will be returned with any name that includes that letter sequence. For example, if 'Ha' is entered in the Family name field, then 'Hamilton', 'Shader', 'Sinha',... will show up in the results list.
- The Go name matching option from the Name Search Mode drop down field extends the search results to include matching middle names or similar preferred names.
- Entering the Student Registration Number in the SRN field as search criteria opens the student record directly.
3. Select the Go button.
Tip: If there is only one matching student record, the student details will be displayed on the screen.
The student records are displayed according to the provided search criteria.
4. Select the student from the list.
The student record is displayed.
Locate a student using the family tree.
If you are currently working with a student’s record, you can search for their sibling at your school by using the family tree option.
1. Select the family tree icon.
Note: Both icons will take you to the students’ family tree.
2. Select the siblings name from the Family Tree.
The student record is displayed.
