How to change application status in OoA

The purpose of this guide is to provide instructions on how to change the application status in OoA from Decline to Offer and Offer to Decline.

  1. Schools can change the status of an out-of-area application after it has been either Offered or Declined
  2. Navigate back to the detailed view of the application and select the ‘Change Status’ button

Note: Once an application has been Withdrawn, the status cannot be changed.

Decline to Offer

If the Out-of-Area application was originally declined by the school, there will be the option to change the status to:

  • Offer Post Appeal
  • Offer (other)
  • Declined Post Appeal
  1. ‘Offer (other)’ may be used at the school’s discretion when an offer needs to be made after a decline

SASS will have the option to send an automated email to the parent, to confirm the change in outcome.

Offer to Decline

If the Out-of-Area application was originally Offered by the school, there will be the option to change the status.

  1. Not Accepted: parent has contacted school to confirm they don’t wish to proceed
  2. Offer Expired: SASS may change this status to expired if no action is taken by parents within a reasonable timeframe
  3. Declined: the school has grounds to revoke an offer

Automated parent emails are optional if the offer is changed to expired or declined. An email will automatically be sent to the parent if the status is changed to ‘not accepted’.
