As the largest employer of teaching graduates in Australia, the NSW Department of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is committed to supporting and developing the next generation of teachers.
Through the establishment of the Early Career Academy for Teachers, the department will work in collaboration with key stakeholders across the education landscape to support individuals as they commence their degree, select a career in NSW public schools and succeed in the classroom as early career teachers.
Aligned with the NSW Government’s $20m Innovative Teacher Training Fund, the Early Career Academy for Teachers will focus on making a teaching degree the first preference for more students, as well as ensuring a strong supply of classroom-ready teachers into NSW public schools in high-need locations and specialist subject areas, improving outcomes for students and communities across NSW.
The Early Career Academy for Teachers supports future teachers from their initial decision to pursue a teaching degree, through their university studies and into employment as early career teachers in NSW public schools.
