27 October 2020
This news item was published prior to the establishment of the NSW Early Learning Commission on 1 December 2025. The Commission is the independent regulator for early childhood education and care (ECEC) in NSW and was previously known as the NSW ECEC Regulatory Authority within the NSW Department of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
Providing effective guidance and support for early childhood education and care services is a key objective of the department.
To ensure you have regulatory guidance at your fingertips, the department has released a suite of regulatory policies.
These policies aim to help education and care providers and services understand their responsibilities and how regulatory requirements are applied in the delivery of early childhood services.
The policies also provide important information on the role of the department as the Regulatory Authority for the NSW education and care sector and how our functions are guided by the requirements of the National Quality Framework.
The department is working on publishing further regulatory policies in the near future.
