Parent Email Templates - Year 6-7 Transition

When a Transition to High School EOI is offered, declined or withdrawn in the Online Enrolment School Interface (SI), an automated email is sent to parents to confirm the outcome of their application.

This page provides more information about the content of those emails.

Year 7 High School – Email Templates

Withdraw – place not required

A parent or carer has requested for the high school to withdraw the student’s expression of interest (EOI) application.

Dear Mr Smith,

This email confirms that you have withdrawn your expression of interest for John Smith to attend Castle Hill High School with reference number: 1930-260376-6582.

The expression of interest will now be provided to <Designated (local) high school> for consideration.

If you have any further questions, please contact us directly.

Decline - place not offered

The application is declined by the school as they are unable to offer an out-of-area place to this student. Or the student’s application does not meet the criteria for an out-of-area place.

We have assessed the out-of-area application for John Smith to enrol in Year 7 at Castle Hill High School next year. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a place.

All information provided was considered and the application was assessed in accordance with the department's enrolment policy.

Your expression of interest will be provided to <Next preference high school> for consideration.

If you wish to discuss the outcome of your application, please contact the school. If you need an interpreter to assist you, you may call the Telephone Interpreter Service on telephone number 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The interpreter will call the school and will stay on the line to assist you with your conversation. You will not be charged for this service.

Offer – Local placement (digital EOI submitted)

The school has offered a place to the student. A confirmation email has been sent to the parent/carer notifying them of the offer and directing them to complete a full Application to Enrol.

Please follow these steps to finalise the application:

  1. Go to our school's Enrolment page.
  2. Follow the link to the online enrolment sign in page.
  3. Sign in with the same details you used to start your application.
  4. Proceed to complete a full enrolment application or Decline the offer.

To finalise the offer, please submit a full enrolment application within 14 days. Once you have submitted the application, we will confirm the enrolment with you. If we have not received your application to enrol within 14 days we will assume that you are no longer interested, and the place will be offered to another student.

1.Go to our school's Enrolment page.

2.Follow the link to the online enrolment sign in page.

3.Sign in with the same details you used to submit your EOI.

4.Proceed to complete a full enrolment application or Decline the offer.

Simply go to the ‘How to enrol – Year 6 into Year 7, <next calendar year>’ section on our enrolment page and follow the instructions to apply.

If we have not received your application to enrol within 14 days we will assume that you are no longer interested and the place will be offered to another student.

Please contact the school if John Smith no longer requires a place at Castle Hill High School.

Next steps

•Download the Application to enrol in NSW Government schools form (PDF 786.4KB) for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol maybe help you to full out the form in English. You can also obtain a paper Application to enrol from any government school.

•Return a signed copy of the form to Castle Hill High School within 14 days.
