Record a suspension for shared enrolments in ERN
This guide details how to create a behaviour incident with an outcome of suspension for students who have shared enrolment status in ERN.
Background
Suspension is a serious action and principals should only consider suspension when other appropriate behaviour support options have been attempted or implemented and given time to be effective but have not been successful in resolving behaviours of concern. In some circumstances, the principal may determine that a student should be suspended as a first response to a behaviour of concern because there are immediate risks to the health, safety, learning and/or wellbeing for students or staff that cannot be mitigated with the student at school.
Suspension in one learning environment will not result in an automatic suspension from the other learning environment, where a student is shared between two schools. The principal issuing the suspension must advise the principal of the other setting of the suspension and the issues that led to the decision to suspend as soon as possible. Both principals must reach an agreement in line with section 3.5.7 of the Student Behaviour Procedures on whether the suspension will apply across one or both settings.
Note: All student information used has been manufactured and does not relate to any real student.

- Principal, School Admin Manager and/or delegate has given access in AMU to create suspension records in ERN.
