Languages Mentoring Program
The Languages Mentoring Program (formerly known as the Virtual Languages Mentoring Network) is a 12-month mentoring program for language teachers 7–12 in NSW public schools. It links experienced teacher mentors with beginning teacher mentees. Mentees must be permanent or temporary and be in their first 5 years of teaching languages.
The program:
- provides structured, 12-month support that aligns with the needs of early career teachers and teachers new to teaching languages
- connects teachers, to discuss and navigate pedagogy, assessment, reporting and engagement
- offers targeted professional learning that is practical, relevant and energising
- fosters confidence and autonomy as teachers navigate the challenges and rewards of language teaching.
